Description
The Poodle is the national dog of France and known as the Caniche, or “duck dog. Although, the Poodle is associated with France, the breed originated as a duck hunter in Germany, where they were referred to as “pudelin,” which means splashing in water. The Poodle was developed as a retrieving water dog more than 400 years ago. They make magnificent retrievers with their crisp, curly coat as protection against the elements, superlative swimming ability, and off-the-charts intelligence.
The Miniature Poodle is a hypoallergenic dog making it a great companion for people with allergies. They come in an array of coat colors, including black, white, apricot, grey, silver, and brown. These people pleasing dogs are easy to train and love to delight their human companions. Mini Poodles are smart, active, and playful. When meeting someone new they can be either friendly and polite or shy and timid. So, it is best to have them socialize at an early age.
